“Mummy, it’s morning time!” It was slightly before 6 am, and as I heard Georgia’s footsteps shuffling along the short corridor joining our rooms, I braced for her to climb over me, or in between us, and as I waited, I heard her creep over to her dad’s side and with a rather loud whisper, “Dad, it’s morning time!”
How odd, I wondered, perhaps they had such a good time yesterday they were continuing their ‘bonding’. I wasn’t going to complain about an extra 10 minutes in bed!
“Ok!” Dad said, getting out of bed immediately. Curiouser and curiouser…
About 5 minutes later, Georgia appears with a sweet little plant. “Happy Mothers Day” with a kiss and a hug “Do you love it?” she asks pointing to the present. “Yes of course”
“Then you must keep it here, right next to you on your table” clearing a space from all the books.
“And you must stay in bed, we are bringing you breakfast…”
She disappears only to return two minutes, precariously balancing a plate-full of chipolatas, fried eggs, baked beans – a cooked breakfast. “Daddy will bring your tea up”
Wow! What a treat and a lovely start to the day!
Thank you Georgia and Daddy and a Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful Mummys (and Mummys -to-be) out there, including my own, who had to cook a wonderful lunch AND dinner on Mother’s Day.
Thank you Mum and Happy Mother’s Day!
